Performance Opportunities

Recitals are a vital part of the student’s accomplishments – that is why I usually offer a Christmas recital in December and a spring recital in May.

The more students perform, the more natural it becomes. I encourage students to take opportunities to play at church and perform for family and friends in order to make recitals less intimidating. Although the student may be shy to play in front of people, it is possible to play and have fun at the same time.

Recitals also motivate students to continue learning when they hear others play. Younger students usually remark, “Wow, I want to play like that when I get bigger!”
